Have you ever played Baldur’s Gate 3 and tried to romance Shadowheart but accidentally found yourself sleeping with Gale? Lots of players have, including ourselves, and one modder has made it so that accidentally sleeping with the beautiful mage is a thing of the past.

Of course, Gale is not a bad romantic choice. In fact, some players have been so enamoured by the party member that their virtual relationship have ended toxic, abusive, real-life ones. However, the mage’s high emotions and sense of attachment to anyone who looks at him kindly does make him incredibly easy to romance… until now.

Stop boning Gale in Baldur’s Gate 3

Created by modder HyperspaceTowel, the “Stop Accidentally Dating Gale” mod does exactly what it says on the tin. The mod tweaks “some potentially confusing dialogue options” that seem very platonic, but tug at Gale’s heartstrings.

The mod makes sure that every line that makes Gale fall for Tav so rapidly is specifically altered to make sure that you know exactly what’s happening. While your Tav definitely wasn’t leading on the puppy-dog-magician before, there’s now more caution between yourself and the wizard.

Of course, the mod itself isn’t 100% necessary for avoiding any accidental feelings being created. Alongside finding a guide elsewhere, the modder has listed every dialogue choice that will make Gale drool emotionally.

“Instead of downloading the mod, you can also just use the description below as a guide for what not to do,” the modder said. “But where’s the fun in that?”

Alongside dialogue choices that make him almost instantly fall in love with you, early versions of Baldur’s Gate 3 did have some accidental triggers that make Gale easier to romance than other characters. However, even with those issues fixed and Patch 8 now here, Gale is still the easiest character to romance by accident.
