Following Midway’s 2005 console and PC FPS Area 51, comes BlackSite: Area 51 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. The game is expected to arrive this summer and IGN has the first solid info on the game.

According to IGN the game will give players choices which will mould the moral standing of your character.

The player’s modern-day emotions and fears are driven into a world charged with grave responsibility affecting lives hanging in the balance and eventually finding himself torn between his professional orders and his own ethical standards,” describes Midway. “In the end, only the actions of the player and his squad can shape the outcome of BlackSite: Area 51 during this potentially pivotal moment in history.

In BlackSite players will take control of a complete Special Forces squad as you battle against a bunch of aliens. The morale of each squad member will affect how well they perform. Command your squad poorly and the team will lose morale, perform well below par, lose aiming accuracy, become more fatigued, and generally lose the will to fight.

Together with on foot action, the game will feature a selection of vehicles such as HMMWVs, ATVs and civilian vehicles. You’ll also take to the sky in helicopter raids, where you’ll be tasked with gunning down enemy soldiers.

A non-linear level path is also promised, with multiple routes available to complete any one objective, and tactical cover is also encouraged, with plenty of cover points scattered throughout the levels. You won’t be able to stay put for too long though, with much of the game’s environment being destructible in some way.

Aside from the game’s single-player game, Midway will deliver a host of multiplayer modes, with a mix of tried and tested modes such as Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and Capture the Flag mixed in with new game types.

BlackSite: Area 51 is currently scheduled for release on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC in the summer.
