Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition, the modern overhaul of the classic BioWare RPG from 2002, will hit Steam on March 27, developer Beamdog has announced.

The studio confirmed the date in a recent live stream, where it also talked a bit about how it plans on keeping the game updated in the future. First and foremost, those of you who have already snapped up early versions of the game by pre-purchasing Neverwinter Nights will gain access to patches before anyone else. Following this, individual updates will be lumped together into bigger patches that will be made available to everyone.

The studio added that it is currently ‘investigating’ ways to introduce new content into the original game’s campaign, although right now hasn’t quite cracked the case. As it stands, the Enhanced Edition still offers plenty of highlights, including 4K resolution support, spruced up visuals, plus two expansion in addition to the vanilla version of the Neverwinter Nights.

The original Neverwinter Nights was a massive success upon its launch 16 years ago, and unsurprisingly spawned a sequel in the form of 2006’s Neverwinter Nights 2.Â
