Raven Software and Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock developer Neversoft are contributing to the development of Call of Duty: Ghosts, Activision has confirmed to VideoGamer.com.

“I think what’s great about this franchise is that you have multiple developers that work on [it],” Suarez told us. “Treyarch worked on multiple Call of Duty games, Infinity Ward worked on multiple Call of Duty games, Sledgehammer… This year we have Raven and Neversoft helping IW on the title.”

Neversoft revealed that it was developing a Call of Duty title in early 2012, but has remained tight-lipped on the project since. Raven has contributed to the Call of Duty franchise since 2010’s Call of Duty: Black Ops.

But Suarez believes that having so many developers on board helps deliver innovation to the franchise.

“I think innovation is the core foundation for this group,” he continued. “Last year, you had Treyarch bring innovation in terms of eSports, Strike Force missions, things that they wanted to do. This time around IW has the same sort of drive: squad dynamics, changes to multiplayer, dynamic maps, the dog, the squad; we are always trying to push for new things.

“That’s what keeps people engaged with the franchise. The game is fun to play. As we add new things, we just need to ensure those things make the core gameplay better. I think squads will be a unique thing that people are really going to resonate with.”

It isn’t yet clear what exactly Neversoft or Raven are contributing to the title.

Call of Duty: Ghosts was revealed earlier today at Microsoft’s Xbox One reveal.

As well as being set in an alternate universe to the Modern Warfare series, this year’s game features a new next-gen engine, introducing particle effects, volumetric HDR lighting and technology developed by Pixar.

Call of Duty: Ghosts launches on November 5, 2013.
