Early reports claimed the move was as a result of poor subscription figures for City of Heroes and City of Villains – one site reporting that 90 percent of tech staff and 75% of QA testers were being laid off. This has been denied by NCsoft – the figure is actually only 70 staff from its 300-strong Austin office.
The good news for gamers is that the staff reduction won’t have any impact on current (Heroes/Villains, Guild Wars) and future games (Tabula Rasa).
