NBA 2K23 launched months ago and once again delivered a jam-packed variety of new content and features for fans to dive into. With plenty to learn and process, getting a feel for the gameplay is never a bad place to start, especially when it comes to scoring the ball.

One neat part about NBA 2K over the past decade, has been its progression with the layup package it allows fans to tap into. If your style of scoring is predicated on slashing and driving, knowing how to execute certain types of finishes around the basket in NBA 2K23 is vital in order to prevent defenders from getting between you and your shot.

The only option to shoot on a PC keyboard for NBA 2K23, is the NumPad 5 key. If you’re looking to perform the seven different layup options on PC, you will need to use a controller.

Additional Tips

The key with mastering these moves on NBA 2K23 is by making sure to be as precise as possible with the execution of both your RS and LS movements. If you’re a tad bit off with where you’re pointing your RS or LS, you won’t deliver the layup you want.

In addition, when and where you choose to pull off your layup move in NBA 2K23 is crucial. For example, when implementing a hop step, it’s important to do so right on the outskirts of the paint, if not earlier so that your player has the space to execute the layup.

For an easier learning curve, it’s best to try these layups out with the star players the game has to offer. Here’s the full list of all the top overall rated players in NBA 2K23.
