Disney Interactive has today announced that Disney/Walden Media’s The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian video game is to be released for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, PlayStation 2, PC and Nintendo DS on June 20, with the motion picture opening in theatres on June 27.

Developed by Traveller’s Tales, Prince Caspian for home consoles and PC not only enables fans to play out events from the novel and motion picture, but also experience an all-new level created for the video game. This level is set between events of The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe and Prince Caspian and takes place at the castle of Cair Paravel. It tells the story of how Narnia fell to the Telmarine hordes.

The game will feature action gameplay with the ability for two players to play cooperatively on a single system. Across the course of the game over 20 characters will be playable, including Prince Caspian.

Rather than porting the game down to the Nintendo DS, an entirely new gaming experience has been created for the handheld to take advantage of its unique functionality. As an action-orientated, turn-based RPG players will need to explore the land of Narnia taking control of more than 10 characters.

We’re promised touch screen gesture controlled attacks, a voice activated in-game horn and the option to turn the DS on its side for storybook narratives. The Nintendo DS version of Prince Caspian is in development at Fall Line Studio and is scheduled to release alongside the home console and PC versions.
