Acclaimed adventure game Firewatch has sold more than a million copies, developer Campo Santo has announced.

“Sometime late last year we sold our one millionth copy of Firewatch. Thank you all so much!” Tweeted the studio.

Launched on PS4 and Steam back in February, Firewatch quickly outperformed Campo Santo’s “wildest expectations”. An Xbox One version arrived in September and an update to support PS4 Pro rolled out in November.

Firewatch tells the tale of Henry, a Wyoming fire lookout who begins to uncover clues about mysterious goings on within a national forest.

Since launch the game has also been expanded with a new Free Roam mode and an Audio Tour which blends scavenger hunt, museum tour, dev workshop and inside Campo Santo goofs.
