The ongoing Call of Duty Next broadcast has confirmed that War mode, last seen in Call of Duty WW2, will be returning in Modern Warfare 3.
In the opening of the broadcast, fans got a tease from members of the Sledgehammer Games team that as well as the large-scale mode last seen in the 2017 entry, there’ll be a whole new mode that’ll be playable in the upcoming beta come the MW3 beta start time this weekend.
War Mode in WW2 was a narrative driven multiplayer mode, with one team attacking and another team defending across a series of large maps. It’s not to be confused with Ground War, which is also returning in MW3 but debuted in last year’s MW2.
We’re promised we’ll find out more about the new mode later in the broadcast, so we’ll update when we know more. This is a developing story and we’ll have more as we get it.
