Though MW3 and Diablo 4 remain two of Activision Blizzard’s most high-profile video game series in their storied catalog, most fans remain disappointed that these beloved installments aren’t available in Xbox’s ever-popular Game Pass subscription service. However, that may soon change as the CoD and Diablo publisher has revealed that both games could arrive on the platform as early as next year once the deal between Microsoft and Activision closes.

In a post on social media website X, the official Activision Blizzard account acknowledged that “it’s awesome to see anticipation building for Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® III.” “As we continue to work toward regulatory approval of the Microsoft deal, we’ve been getting some questions whether our upcoming and recently launched games will be available via Game Pass,” the CoD publisher added.

“While we do not have plans to put Modern Warfare® III or Diablo IV into Game Pass this year, once the deal closes, we expect to start working with Xbox to bring our titles to more players around the world,” they continued. “And we anticipate that we would begin adding games into Game Pass sometime in the course of next year.” Even though Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision is yet to be approved, the general sentiment is that it’s only a matter of time until it gets sealed. This statement from the video game publisher itself only further confirms it.

Unfortunately, an exact date for Diablo 4 and Modern Warfare 3’s release on Game Pass is yet to be provided, as the deal hasn’t officially been approved yet. But if you’re looking forward to playing both games on Xbox’s massive video game subscription service, then it may only be a matter of time until you’ll be able to do so.
