Based on a CoD announcement, a number of modes and maps in the game have been made free-to-play for five days. If you’ve always wanted to try out the latest entry without the need to spend any money, then this is the perfect time to do so.

Here’s everything that you need to know about MW2’s Multiplayer Free Access event.

When is the Multiplayer Free Access Period in MW2?

The Multiplayer Free Access period began on December 15, 2022 at 10AM PT until December 19, 2022 at 10AM PT. Its arrival comes a day after Season 1 Reloaded was launched so players will now be able to try it out for a whole five days.

Keep in mind, though, that only a portion of the game will be fully accessible during this time. If you enjoyed your time during the event and want to continue when it’s done, you’ll have to buy the complete game to do so.

What can you play during MW2 Multiplayer Free Access?

Those participating during the event will be able to play exactly three maps and four game modes. These are the following locations that you can familiarize yourself with throughout its duration: Shipment, El Asilo, and Farm 18. The revamped Shipment map was released as part of the midseason update. This means that all players involved will still be getting used to its new design.

On the other hand, the modes you can play include four action-packed, fan-favorite scenarios. This includes the following: Team Deathmatch, Kill Confirmed, Domination, and Hardpoint. For those that aren’t familiar, the first two modes depend wholly on your team’s score as a collective. Conversely, the last two are all about capturing a specific location on the map. Users will also be able to experience an all-new third-person variant for each of these match types.
