WB Games has launched the open beta for MultiVersus, its multiplayer brawler, after a period of early access. It’s a free-to-play game that takes after Super Smash Bros., but with Warner Bros. characters.
The open beta allows you to play two-versus-two matches, and it lets you pick your own pairings. You’ll most likely want to pair various characters with Taz, because Taz is brilliant.
What characters will be in the MultiVersus open beta?
The full roster for the open beta is as follows:
- Batman (DC)
- Superman (DC)
- Wonder Woman (DC)
- Harley Quinn (DC)
- Shaggy and Velma (Scooby-Doo)
- Bugs Bunny (Looney Tunes)
- Tasmanian Devil aka Taz (Looney Tunes)
- Arya Stark (Game of Thrones)
- Tom & Jerry (Tom and Jerry)
- Jake the Dog (Adventure Time)
- Finn the Human (Adventure Time)
- Steven Universe and Garnet (Steven Universe)
- Iron Giant (The Iron Giant)
- LeBron James (Space Jam: A New Legacy)
- Rick Sanchez (Rick and Morty)
- Morty Smith (Rick and Morty)
- Reindog (I don’t know what Reindog is from, and, frankly, I don’t want to know)
I played the closed beta, and I wound up having more fun with it than I thought I would. Yes, it’s derivative, to an extent. But it also does a number of clever things with its format.
In other recent MultiVersus news, LeBron James is on his way into the roster. And so is Rick and Morty. Check out the latest trailer for the game below:
What platform will the MultiVersus open beta be on?
The open beta is live now on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC.
