Batman – The Telltale Series will feature a Crowd Play multiplayer mode in which in-game choices are made by the group of connected players, reports Shack News.

The new multiplayer mode was showcased at Comic-Con over the weekend.

When the host chooses Crowd Play a URL is generated from which crowd players can log in and connect to the game.

Two Crowd Play modes are available, though both are limited local play as latency issues prevent streaming.

Complete Control: Here the host is in control of the choices being made, but the connected players offer their decisions via a percentage vote displayed on the player’s screen. Kind of like Ask the Audience in Who Wants to be a Millionaire. Feedback via thumbs up and down is also presented to the player.

Majority Rules: In this mode the crowd actually decides by majority vote what decisions are made.

“We wanted a better way to integrate that audience,” Telltale Games head of creative communications Job Stauffer told Shack News. “Now, from two to 2000-plus people can help the player make decisions.”

“We are now turning all of Telltale’s games into a live interactive multiplayer experience,” he said.

Crowd Play will also be part of future Telltale titles.

Batman – The Telltale Series will premiere August 2.
