Sony has revealed that MotorStorm will be getting an update in a few weeks, tackling a number of issues including exploits which have made the online leaderboards unfair. The update will be required for anyone who wishes to play online.

The update will be available for free and gamers will be prompted to install once it is ready.

MotorStorm v.1.2 fixes include:

  • Boost Exploit: Players will no longer be able to use boost in an exploitative manner.
  • Buddy List Size: Now supports 50 friends.
  • Improved Stability: Online gameplay stability has been improved.
  • Player Rankings: Bug ranked players incorrectly. This has now been fixed, but regrettably the leaderboards have had to be reset.
  • Auto Start: Races will be forced to start after a fixed countdown. This should cut down lobby waiting times.
