A patch for the PC version of Mortal Kombat X that was meant to bring it to parity with the superior Xbox One and PS4 versions has actually broken the game even further.

“It literally brings the PC version to parity with the console versions and there’s huge improvements coming to that version,” said Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon earlier this week.

“That’s a lot of the feedback we have been getting back; people with PC issues, so we’re really excited to get them the version they deserve.”

Sadly the patch didn’t go to plan, with those who downloaded the gargantuan 15GB update reporting save data loss. Warner was then forced to withdraw the update.

“We have pinpointed the issue resulting in the Save Data Loss and are in the process of testing the fix in a new patch. Once fully tested, we will look to post it later this evening and will make another announcement at that time. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through this,” read a post from yesterday.

An update from early this morning reads: “We continue to work on the fix for Save Data Loss. In order to ensure it is properly tested, we will look to post the fix early tomorrow. Again, we thank you for your patience and your input.”
