Mortal Kombat X is the best-selling entry in the throat-ripping franchise, with nearly 11 million copies sold worldwide, series creator Ed Boon revealed during a Q&A with Game Informer.

The bloody brawler launched back in 2015, and was re-released a year later as Mortal Kombat XL, which shipped with a heap of DLC in the box.

Obviously, the main focus of the chat was Mortal Kombat 11, with Boon revealing a couple of interesting details. For one, Easy Fatalities are coming back, and apparently Raiden is the only character who can survive a bullet to the head in the series’ canon. That’s good to know, I guess.

Oh, and Neo from The Matrix is absolutely not going to be in the game, nor are loot boxes (result!).

Mortal Kombat 11 is slated for release on PlayStation 4, PC, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One on April 23. Check out the latest character for the game here. It’s also worth checking the latest information we have on the MK1 early acccess start time and date
