Mortal Kombat X had “the biggest launch in [Mortal Kombat] history”, creative director Ed Boone has announced.
Celebrating the news on Twitter, Boone thanked fans for the game’s successful launch, stating that “you made the game FAR exceed our wildest expectations…!!”
“The Mobile & console games have had literally millions of players getting online in a really short period of time, hitting our servers HARD!” he said. “We love that so many players want to play MKX and are working (like mad) on all the issues some of you are experiencing! We WILL fix them!”
Mortal Kombat X launched worldwide on PS4, Xbox One and PC on Tuesday, although official sales figures have yet to be announced by publisher Warner Bros. An Xbox 360 and PS3 release is due later this summer.
