According to a listing on the Warner Home Video website – spotted by Mortal Kombat fan publication FDMK – Warner and NetherRealm’s Mortal Kombat will be release in North America on April 19, 2011.

Warner Bros. Interactive has confirmed the game will be hitting stores in April, but won’t offer a more precise date.

FDMK also reports that the game will be available in several editions come its April launch. In addition to the regular version, fans will be able to pick up the Kollector’s Edition which packs-in Scorpion and Sub-Zero figures, an art book and exclusive costume DLC.

Furthermore, 20,000 units of the Tournament Edition will be sold complete with a portable fight stick and the same DLC found in the Kollector’s Edition.

A mid-April launch will see Mortal Kombat hitting stores around two months after what’s expected to be a strong showing by Marvel vs Capcom 3, hopefully enough time for fight fans to want a new brawler to play with.

However, MK will have the might of Valve’s Portal 2 to contend with; both games are set to launch the same week. Then there’s the possibility of an April release for Rockstar’s LA Noire.
