In a tweet posted yesterday by NetherRealm Studios, the developer announced that the two mystery kombatants arriving as part of Mortal Kombat 11’s Season Pass will be revealed later this month.
The tweet candidly said ‘We’ll be better’, with a video underneath it that showed unhappy tweets from impatient fans bombarding the frame, before shattering to text that read, ‘Kombat Pack Trailer August 21.’

Given that we just got a trailer for Nightwolf’s return to the fighting game, like, literally yesterday, it’s astounding that these very real tweets from fans elicited this response from NetherRealm Studios. It’s possible that they are gently quieting the disgruntlement in much the same way a mother bear would cuff her cub round the ear to say, ‘have the salmon and be grateful, there are bears in the Arctic that are starving.’
Mortal Kombat 11 is available now on PS4, PC, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
