Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment big cheese David Haddad has revealed that Mortal Kombat 11 has enjoyed the series' biggest launch to date.

Speaking at the GamesBeat Summit in Los Angeles this week (via VentureBeat), Haddad confirmed that developer NetherRealm Studios has 'years of new content' planned for the critically acclaimed spine-ripping brawler. In addition, he revealed that Mortal Kombat 11 is also Warner's biggest ever game launch in history for North America.

'I couldn't be more proud of that team and what they've done and the innovations they've brought to [Mortal Kombat]],' said Haddad.

Mortal Kombat 11 came out on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One on Tuesday, and arrives on Nintendo Switch in the UK next month. VideoGamer will have its verdict on the NetherRealm fighting game sequel later today, so keep an eye out for that.
