Mortal Kombat 11 is bringing back Kitana as a playable character, developer NetherRealm has confirmed in a TV spot for the upcoming bone-breaking fighting game sequel.

Kitana originally debuted back in Mortal Kombat II, and rebelled against Shao Kahn's rule after finding out she wasn't his biological daughter. Unfortunately, she was killed in battle and was brought back to life as an evil revenant, where she joins Liu Kang as the ruler of the Netherrealm.

She also showed up in the 1995 Mortal Kombat film, where she was played by former Bond girl, Talisa Soto.

While there's no gameplay of her in Mortal Kombat 11 yet, the TV spot confirms that Kitana will still wield her trademark razor-sharp fans in battle, which fans will no doubt have expected.

Mortal Kombat 11 is due out on PlayStation 4, PC, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One on April 23. Be sure to read up on the game's latest newcomer, the Kollector.
