With Mortal Kombat 1’s early access kicking off recently, players with all sorts of gaming PCs have had the chance to finally jump in the game.

While many have been able to tone the game up with the best graphics settings for Mortal Kombat 1, others have been less fortunate. One gamer on Reddit has uploaded a screenshot of what the game looks like on a Intel Iris Xe graphics card.

You might be a little stumped as to why anyone is trying to game from an Intel Iris Xe GPU, though it’s actually a GPU found in some handheld gaming PC models such as the One X Player, and a few others. While not exactly popular, nor practical, there are some people out there with no other choice.

While the graphics card doesn’t look it’s up for the task of running MK1 at an acceptable performance level – there is something incredibly nostalgic about the look of the ultra pixelated, ridiculously high contrast textures. When the original Mortal Kombat released in 1992, the game was praised for its ground-breaking realistic textures. Using nearly photo-real sprites that were still layered with pixel textures gave the game an incredibly unique look, and while this Intel glitch goes far beyond that – it still looks pretty damn cool.
