Puzzle Quest: Galactrix, the follow-up the highly addictive Puzzle Quest: Warlords once again blends puzzle, RPG and strategy genres, only this time puts it all into a new sci-fi world.

The simple match-3 puzzle gameplay returns with players always competing against an opponent, be it AI controlled or human player. Players create a pilot character who gains skills and ships as more battles are won. These battles will typically last between five and ten minutes and will be interspersed with trade, ship building and diplomacy.

We’re also promised a strong multiplayer component promising support for up to four players, future downloadable content (ships, items, plans, planets, factions and missions) and online leaderboards.

Puzzle Quest: Galactrix is scheduled for release this year for PC, Xbox Live Arcade and Nintendo DS.
