Posting on his official blog, EA Sports boss Peter Moore has shot down rumours that the publisher is preparing a new cricket title, stating the game “does not exist”.

“Despite whatever you may have read online, we have absolutely nothing to announce about a cricket game,” said Moore. “As per my previous posts on this issue, if and when we have an announcement to make about a title, we will do so in a timely and structured manner. But in this case, no amount of persistent pushing can create a game that does not exist…sorry.”

EA’s last cricket title was EA Sports Cricket 07, released in November 2006 on PS2 and PC. The game’s biggest rival was Codemasters’ popular Brian Lara series, with the most recent, Brian Lara International Cricket 2007, released on Xbox 360, PC and PS2 in 2007.
