Capcom has confirmed, at the PlayStation Tokyo Games Show press conference, that Monster Hunter World will be released worldwide on January 26 2018. It’ll also be getting a collector’s edition, a digital Deluxe Edition, and a limited edition Monster Hunter-themed PS4 Pro console, which will be released in Japan on December 7. Yes, the console will actually be out before the game.

There’s no word on whether we’ll see this special edition console released in Europe or North America. It’d be nice if it was. Usually limited edition consoles and controllers can (and do) look pretty tacky, but this one doesn’t actually look too bad. Even the Dualshock 4 controller looks alright, but that gold symbol on the right hand grip can do one.

Pre-orders for the limited edition PS4 Pro console, and the game, will begin tomorrow in Japan. Capcom is banking heavily on this, and the translator kept reiterating that people should pre-order it. So, perhaps you should pre order it?

Monster Hunter World will be coming to the PS4, Xbox One and PC on January 26, 2018.
