Monster Hunter: World has received its first major title update on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One today, adding a brand new creature into the mix in the shape of the slobbering, flesh-hungry Deviljho.

Apparently this beast is so fearsome that not even other monsters are safe from its jaws, so you had better bring your best gear with you to have a shot at dispatching the lumbering creature.

Elsewhere, the update also adds a bunch of balance changes for various weapons including long swords, great swords, shields, dual blades, hammers, and more. Capcom’s also reduced loading times, as well as added a ‘Kick from Online Session’ to the player list. Read the full list of patch notes at Capcom’s blog.

Monster Hunter: World was released in January for PS4 and Xbox One, receiving critical acclaim and going on to become Capcom’s best-selling title to date. Alice joined the hunt and came away more than a little impressed with the game, finding it to be a compelling adventure and an ideal entry point for series newcomers to boot.
