Capcom has announced that it's running two betas for the Monster Hunter World expansion, Iceborne, and it begins this Friday.

This first beta is exclusive to PlayStation Plus subscribers, and runs from 10am on Friday, June 21, and will end at 10am on Monday, June 24. The second beta, which takes place between 10am on Friday, June 28, and 10am on Monday, July 1, will be open to all PlayStation 4 players. Sadly, Xbox One and PC players will have to miss out on this one, but the cool thing is that those on PS4 don't have to own the base game to give this a go. So, that's nice, at least.

There'll be three quests available to players: the intro Jagras hunt, a new brute wyvern called Banbaro, and the classic MonHun mon Tigrex makes its first appearance in World via this beta. Each completed quest will net you an item pack that you can use in the Iceborne expansion.

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne is coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on September 6, and will be available on PC some time this winter.
