Monster Hunter: World will receive a bug-squashing day one update, developer Capcom has announced (via PSLS). Fortunately, the patch isn’t going to make your hard drive sweat, with the update weighing in at just 815MB.

It’s still no less essential however, as one of the first things it does is unlock various online functionality for Monster Hunter: World. So, this means you’ll be able to head into multiplayer mode, as well as enjoy Event Quests and in-game chat.

Meanwhile, your gaff will support an additional content option for room service, while a Gallery Mode will be added to let you rewatch previous scenes. Your character’s appearance will change here based on the save game data.

The day one patch will also roll out an adorable little chap known as Poogie, a mascot character who wonders around the trading area at the base camp. He’ll appear after you’ve made a certain amount of progress in the game and can be petted (it’s a pig, so there’s no weirdness going on here) to boost your friendship level.

Finally, Capcom confirmed the patch will add in a number of new subtitle options (Traditional Chinese, Korean, Brazilian Portuguese, Polish, Russian, and Arabic) and also iron out a number of bugs present in the code.

Monster Hunter: World is due out on PS4 and Xbox One on January 26, and scheduled to launch on PC later this year. Alice recently had a crack at the beast-hunting behemoth, so watch our preview video to see how she fared.
