Capcom has shared a new trailer for Monster Hunter Stories on the 3DS ahead of its September 8 release.. The 3DS title exudes a lovely art-style, impressive visuals and a pervasive charm throughout the short video. Featuring a completely new turn-based RPG style of gameplay to the mainline Monster Hunter series, Stories puts players in the role of a Rider who befriends monsters by stealing eggs and hatching them. Think Pokemon crossed with Monster Hunter. It’s very cute.

Players will be able to fly their befriended monsters, swim and crash into new areas of the map, and participate in turn-based battles with their new monster friends. A demo is also on its way and should be out on August 10, complete with save data transfer so you can continue your progress on the full game. If the demo is a localised version of the original Japanese demo, it’ll let players choose between a quest or a tournament, giving the player an insight into the exploration and battle modes.

The trailer also confirms that the North American release will be the same as the previously confirmed European release. Monster Hunter Stories is out on September 8 for Nintendo 3DS.
