Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate will be released for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS on March 22, both via regular retail channels and via the Nintendo eShop, Nintendo Europe and Capcom have announced.

A month earlier, on February 21, fans will get the chance to sample the game by downloading a demo from the eShop – available for Wii U and 3DS. The demo will feature one Beginner and one Advanced single-player quest, and 12 weapons to help tackle Lagombi and Plesioth.

Players who pick up both versions of the game will be able to transfer their own personal save data from the Wii U version to their copy on Nintendo 3DS, and vice versa, meaning you needn’t stop laying when leaving the comfort of your home.

3DS support local multiplayer for up to four players, while Wii U can take the action online in parties of up to four. In addition, a Wii U player can team up with 3DS players via a local wireless connection

The Wii U GamePad’s microphone can also be used to chat with your hunting party when playing online.
