Jane Jensen has revealed that the first game from her new Kickstarter-backed Pinkerton Road studio will be a sci-fi thriller called Moebius.

Jensen and Pinkerton Road allowed its Kickstarter supporters the choose its first project, and Moebius cleaned up with 61 per cent of the vote. The game stars an antiques dealer named Malachi Rector who teams up with a millionaire, Amber Dexter, to solve a “metaphysical” mystery.

“The first event is the death of a young woman in Venice, who was found hanging from a bridge,” states the brief. “As Rector investigates her life, he soon realizes that this beautiful and talented young woman – and the interrupted path of her life – had great hidden significance.

It appears that Amber Dexter and his associates are playing with the fabric of life in a way Rector never imagined possible. Even he, Rector himself, is part of a larger pattern.”

We’re also told that Rector has the ability to sense the soul of an object. Not sure how that works, but it’ll probably come in handy.

Provided it gets its funding, Moebius will be a third-person adventure game with two different versions – a hardcore “true adventure” version, and a casual path with simplified puzzles. You’ll be able to choose your difficulty at the start of the game.

If you’re interested, you can dump the contents of your wallet on the project’s Kickstarter page.
