Activision isn’t willing to divulge pre-order numbers for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, but chief executive Bobby Kotick has told Reuters that the publisher hasn’t previously seen pre-orders on this scale in its 21-year history.
“It’s sort of surprising because you always go into the launch of a new Call of Duty game with an expectation that… it’s a hard number to beat, but if you look at the player enthusiasm for ‘Modern Warfare 3,’ I don’t know if we’ve really seen anything like it in our 21-year history.”
Last month GAME revealed Modern Warfare 3 is on track to break the pre-order record set by Black Ops.
