Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3’s engine is a step up from what was used in previous games, according to Infinity Ward.

“We haven’t gone into detail on the engine yet but we’ve moved beyond the MW2 engine and added a lot of cool stuff for MW3,” said Rob Bowling on Twitter.

From the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Reveal Trailer it is clear Infinity Ward hasn’t ditched their former code, but in certain areas incremental updates have been added over what was being used in Modern Warfare 2.
