Infinity Ward has confirmed that popular Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer map Terminal will arrive in Modern Warfare 3 on July 18 for all Xbox 360 owners.
Premium Call of Duty: Elite subscribers will get hold of the map one day earlier on July 17. PlayStation 3 and PC owners will have to wait at least a month due to a long-standing exclusivity deal between Activision and Microsoft.
Terminal, one of Modern Warfare 2‘s most popular maps, will be released for free.
Infinity Ward’s former creative strategist Rob Bowling said in February that re-released maps should always be released for free. “If we’re going to do a throwback map, let that be outside the DLC model, let it be free, let it for everyone. Don’t let it be restricted by contracts, partnerships, and all that f***ing money stuff. Let it just be there.”
