Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter believes global sales of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will “exceed $500 million in the first week following launch”.

In his Activision Blizzard Q3 Preview, Pachter also estimated that the highly anticipated title will “easily sell 10 million units in Q4 [Oct-Dec]”

Speaking on GT’s Bonus Round last month, Pachter said that with the right marketing the title could achieve Q4 sales of up to 14 million units.

“Last year sold about 8 million in the Christmas quarter, I think most people think this will do 10-12. It really depends on marketing – if they blitz the airwaves and we see ads on every basketball game, football game, college football game, every beauty pageant … maybe 14,” said Pachter.
