Modern Warfare 2 Season 5 has finally arrived and the current CoD installment’s latest update has predictably brought a ton of changes with it, including a handful of movement buffs. Now, the specific changes made to in-game movement include improvements to slide time and slide velocity, shorter slide-to-fire times, and enhancements to lateral jumping velocity, all of which have predictably pleased many within the player base.
With several characters having already been introduced to the Modern Warfare 2 Season 5 operator list, several fans have now commended the developers for their efforts to improve the latest entry’s gameplay. Over on Reddit, a user named GhilliesInTheCyst praised Infinity Ward and Raven Software for these decisions as they claimed that these are “the best buffs in the whole update” after which they attached an image of the specific enhancements that were made.
Some players, however, weren’t as fond of these changes as korey1337 called out the devs when they claimed: “Call of Duty is really comfortable with nerfing something then over time slowly buffing back to where it was in the first place.” GhilliesInTheCyst then responded to the previous by saying: “Infinity Ward moreso. They always come out with ‘evolutionary’ changes that kinda suck then slowly walk it back over time before you question why they even did it in the first place.”
With most hardcore CoD fans having previously praised Modern Warfare 2019’s enjoyable movement features, many were predictably disappointed upon discovering that the follow-up installment completely eradicated most of these mechanics in favor of a slower and more methodical experience. With these improvements now having been introduced, however, most Modern Warfare 2 players should finally be able to enjoy loading up and fragging out because running around the Modern Warfare 2 Season 5 maps list should be smoother than ever.
