Infinity Ward community manager Robert Bowling has revealed that the hugely anticipated Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has not been delayed for PC, hitting stores alongside Xbox 360 and PS3 versions on November 10, 2009.
This good news for PC gamers was somewhat dampened with confirmation that the game will not support dedicated servers, instead Infinity Ward has opted to implement matchmaking service IWNet.
IWNet promises to make multiplayer more accessible, replacing the requirement of dedicated servers operated by the community – a move the game’s hardcore aren’t too happy with.
“You’re completely reliant on IWNet and there is no dedicated server or server list. You rely on IW Net for matchmaking and your games, but you still have your private matches,” Bowling told BASHandSlash.com.
He added: “It’s definitely going to be a change. It’s going to be a very different setup than what we’re previously used to in the Call of Duty franchise for the PC.”
