Camo challenges have often been an integral part of any CoD release and Modern Warfare 2 is no different. Hardcore CoD fans frequently grind out these objectives in order to acquire unique and flashy looking weapon skins that they can then use in various game modes.

However, not everyone is willing to work for these cosmetics and, unfortunately, these players are typically the ones affected by those attempting to complete the challenges. Because of this, numerous users have taken to Reddit and social media to plead for the removal of these skin objectives.

One particular Reddit thread has even asked for the exclusion of longshot challenges in future CoD releases. The poster had this to say about the current state of camo grinding: “As someone that plays Hardcore pretty much exclusively and doesn’t particularly care about skins because I’m a casual gamer, you’ve completely killed it with these long shots for skins.”

They then go on to say that “every single match has at least of 80% of the players hiding in a corner with a shield hunting long shots.” The same user then suggests designing skin objectives to occur much more naturally throughout the course of a match in order to improve player experience.

Multiple comments under the same thread agree with the poster’s remarks. One specific response noted the following regarding longshot tasks: “They’re also just not fun to do. I had a blast doing most of the camos this year but longshots are so tedious and grindy and just not enjoyable.”

With these types of tasks having long been a part of the CoD camo grind, the developers may have no plans of removing them from the game entirely any time soon. Hopefully, they can find a creative solution that will appease both casual and hardcore players of the game.
