Speaking with 1UP, Hironobu Sakaguchi, creator of the Final Fantasy series and founder of Mistwallker Studios, has revealed that his studio’s Xbox 360 RPGs will be released in North America later this year.

Blue Dragon will arrive first, Sakaguchi stating that it’s currently lined-up for August in North America. The game will also have downloadable content including a new dungeon.

Mistwalker’s second Xbox 360 RPG, Lost Odyssey, will shop simultaneously in Japan and the US at Christmas. The game is being targeted quite heavily at Western gamers and this is shown through the game’s lip-syncing with English actors – the Japanese audio will be dubbed on.

Sadly there’s no info on the games’ European release dates, but given the usual delay in bringing RPGs to Europe (translating the game into several languages takes time) it’s possible we won’t see the games at the same time as the US. We’ll find out for sure when Microsoft makes an official announcement.
