DICE has today announced that its highly anticipated first-person action title, Mirror’s Edge, is to ship for Xbox 360 and PS3 on November 11 in North America and on November 14 across Europe.
As had been previously rumoured, the PC version will not make the November date and will arrive in stores later in the winter.
Prior to the launch of the home console versions, EA will release a playable demo on Xbox 360 Marketplace and PSN. This early peek will feature the prologue of the game including the tutorial and a segment from the single-player story mode. Beginning September 26, players who pre-order the game at selected retailers will receive an exclusive code that unlocks a Time Trial Mode in the demo.
Time Trial challenges players to find the fastest route across the rooftops and streets and upload their times to the Mirror’s Edge leaderboards. Friends will be able to download these runs and compete against a ghost.
“Mirror’s Edge is bringing something new to the action-adventure genre this holiday by putting the player in the shoes of the hero, seeing what she sees, feeling what she feels,” said Owen O’Brien, Senior Producer, DICE. “We wanted to create an entirely new experience, with a different type of heroine and a world that not only looks fresh and new but has unique gameplay.”
