EA has announced that it is bringing its free-running action game Mirror’s Edge to the iPhone. The game’s set for release in January 2010 and appears to have dropped the first-person viewpoint in favour of a 2.5D platformer experience.

Players will once again take control of Faith, a member of an underground messenger group known as Runners, as she races to stop a deadly threat that has grown from within their own ranks. Faith is pretty quick on her feet, and players will need to make the most of her acrobatic skill set in order to outmanoeuvre the enemy.

The iPhone game will feature 14 levels, with dynamic camera angles designed to capture moments of intense action.
