A total of over 15 million copies of Minecraft were sold in 2012, with the iOS and Android Pocket Edition proving to be the most popular.
In 2012 Minecraft Pocket Edition sold 5,899,727 copies, the Xbox 360 Edition sold 5,002,370 copies and the regular PC version shifted 4,177,843 copies.
It was a bumper Christmas too: Pocket sold 283,939 on the day and 706,419 during the week, Xbox 360 sold 100,416 on the day and 325,591 during the week, and PC sold 70,808 on the day and 241,845 during the week.
Life to date PC sales currently stand at 8,840,491, meaning combined franchise sales to date stand at around 19 million copies.
