The Xbox 360 version of Minecraft will be playable at this November’s MineCon, giving attendees the chance to go hands-on with the console version months before the public release.

Carl Manneh, Mojang managing director commented: “Minecraft for Xbox 360 is currently in heavy development and we are very happy with the progress. Daniel [Daniel Kaplan, business developer] is working tightly with the 4J team to coordinate Notch’s design decisions. We want to keep the core experience of the original PC version intact, while ensuring the game fits its new platform.”

Mojang also confirmed Microsoft as the main sponsor for the MineCon convention, taking place November 18-19 in Las Vegas.

Minecraft is scheduled for release on Xbox LIVE Arcade in spring 2012.

Given the huge success of Minecraft on PC, Microsoft’s Xbox 360 could have a bit of a trump card in the early part of 2012.
