Mojang, the Swedish studio behind indie phenomenon Minecraft, is working on an official iOS version of the hit game.
Speaking to Gamasutra, Minecraft creator Markus Persson confirmed that new staffer Aron Neiminen is working on the port which should appear on iPhone, iPod and iPad later this year.
The versions for iOS devices won’t be feature complete with the PC version, instead including those elements which “make sense” for the platform, said Persson.
To date over 1.3 million copies have the game have been purchased for PC, which is doubly impressive considering the game is in beta. Still though, you’re going to want to check out the best laptop for Minecraft, right?
