Microsoft has taken ownership of the Xbone.com domain, which had previously been one of a large collection owned by a domain squatter.

The change in ownership of the domain follows Major Nelson’s public lambasting of the term.

“I don’t like it,” said Hryb. “It disrespects the teams that have put in thousands of hours (already) into the development of the product. Sure, it’s cheeky but I don’t care for it myself.”

Microsoft has previously won legal battles to claim ownership of Xboxone.com and Xboxone.net.

Xbone… I mean Xbox One, launches November 22.
