Speaking exclusively to MCV, Microsoft Euro boss Chris Lewis has revealed that the Xbox 360 currently has an install base approaching 12 million.
“We’re very happy with the performance overall, with an installed base of just under 12 million consoles across 37 countries – and we’re breaking records everywhere in terms of attach rate,” said Lewis.
These comments come only days before the hugely anticipated launch of Halo 3, a game Lewis feels is a “critical milestone“.
“I think without doubt we’ll see a significant lift in the platform,” said Lewis. “Our guys will spend around five million on the Halo 3 launch itself, and it is truly a centrepiece in terms of what we’re doing.“
Halo 3 will release across Europe on September 26, with gamers able to get their hands on the title at many stores across the UK which are opening at midnight on Tuesday September 25.
