Microsoft has revealed its new Kinect for Windows v2, a revised edition of its motion sensing hardware due to be released for Windows PC.

The new model (pictured above) features an almost identical design to the Xbox One Kinect, only with the Xbox One label replaced with the word Kinect, and the Xbox One logo switched out for a basic power indicator.

A power supply and USB 3.0 hub will also be supplied with the unit.

Kinect for Windows allows developers to give computers “eyes, ears, and a brain”, and lets users interact with software using gestures and their voice. The tech specs are expected to be identical to the Xbox One version, offering improved performance over the original Kinect.

A price and release date for the new kit has yet to be confirmed.
