Nintendo has released a new trailer for Metroid: Samus Returns that provides an overview of the game’s story, details new features and showcases the lovely Amiibo additions being made to the game prior to its September 15 release.

The narrated video details Samus’s abilities and bodysuit upgrades that will help her complete the mission, as well as the new ability the melee counter. Aeion abilities are also new inclusions to the game. Scan Pulse enables Samus to scan the environment for hidden paths, Lightning armour creates a forcefield that protects Samus from the alien life forms, Beam Burst enhances Samus’s firing rate and Phase Drift slows down time. All of the Aeion abilities are limited abilities that will drain over time, before needing to be recharged.

Amiibo are also plugged in the trailer. There are four of these that will unlock a number of features that have been locked behind these additional purchases. The amiibo will be essential for completionists, so fork over those hard-earned readies.

Metroid: Samus Returns is out on September 15 for Nintendo 3DS.
