Nintendo really kept this one close to its chest, announcing Metroid: Samus Returns, a remake of  Metroid II for Nintendo 3DS today. It’s coming out on September 15, 2017.

Metroid: Samus Returns is a side-scrolling game that reimagines the Game Boy classic Metroid II. It is being developed by MecurySteam, the studio behind the Castlevania: Lords of Shadow games.

It’s looking pretty good! It’s taking advantage of the system’s increased power over the original Game Boy, whilst also taking into account the 3DS’s own limitations.

But it’s more Metroid, so what’s not to like?
