According to Game Informer's Imran Khan, a Nintendo Switch version of the Metroid Prime Trilogy has 'been long done,' but for reasons unknown has been delayed.

Writing on Twitter, Khan said that an announcement was due to take place last month (possibly at The Game Awards, as it was already rumoured in early December), but that didn't happen. Maybe we'll get something at E3?

The news comes in wake of Metroid Prime 4's delay, with Nintendo confirming last week that it has now been rebooted at Retro Studios.

Speaking of which, Khan revealed a few extra tidbits about the troubled development of Samus' next outing. 'Internal thinking was that it needs to be all under one roof to right the ship,' he wrote (via ResetEra).

Metroid Prime and its sequel were originally released on the GameCube, with the third game coming out on Wii. All three were repackaged as the Metroid Prime Trilogy for the Wii in 2009.
